5. The Feshane International Fair, Convention, and Culture Center
The Feshane International Fair, Convention, and Culture Center (Turkish: Feshane Uluslararası Fuar Kongre ve Kültür Merkezi) is located in the restored and renovated Feshane building. The building was built in 1839 by Sultan Abdülmecit and it used to supply fez and clothing to the Ottoman army. Today the facility regularly hosts seminars, exhibitions, meetings, galas, concerts, fairs and cultural organisations. There are also four restaurants and meeting spaces. The convention centre was designed to meet the needs of Istanbul’s cultural and art world.
