The Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) is holding a three-day master class programme for individuals who are interested in developing an in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of how to do hedging by utilising Islamic financial instruments in order to mitigate risk.
The Hedging in Islamic Finance course, which takes place 1-3 April 2014, will provide insight on the usage of Islamic financial instruments to mitigate risks. One of the main topics that will be discussed will be the techniques that can be used to manage risk in Islamic finance without violating the teachings of the Shari’ah.
This programme is taught in English and is delivered by Dr. Sami Ibrahim Al Suwailem, a prominent expert in the field of Islamic finance, a senior economist, an Islamic researcher and author of several specialised books related to finance. He is currently a senior economist at the Islamic Development Bank.
